Great, looks like a re-work of the FS9 Alpha one, but happy with that!

Looks like some of Wafu's paints there.

Just to clarify all of the new schemes in this package are by Remi Pierlot of France. The original textures by Michael that are also included were given a once-over by Remi to apply his weathering so they all matched up in that way. One of the requirements of this project was that repaints from the original model could easily be made to work on the FSX model (typical dds conversion). Especially since it wasn't a previous portover.

Unlike the B-1B that was a complete remapping and required all new textures (pulling out last eyebrow hair ).

Excuse me for reviving this slightly ageing post, but my recently rekindled interest in plastic modelling and subsequent browsing of relevant sites came up with this item, on the Hasegawa website:

A 1/48th scale job - nice!

The fact that it is Hasegawa, too, puts it close to the top of my list - once I've built those I've had stored in the attic for years, of course...

This Hasegawa kit is really nice, they have recently done a Westland Mk3 and Mk2AEW version also.

I bought the original USN version some years ago and it still sits untouched in my cupboard awaiting some time to work on it.... I was planning to convert it to a Royal Navy Westland Mk2, if you are interested in purchasing it I can recommend that the mouldings are very nice, and its a good quality kit.

That's good news

The only chopper I currently have unbuilt is a Jolly Green Giant, but as it's an older Italerei job, it will require considerable work to get to a presentable standard.

Considering your comments, I will definitely put the Hasegawa Sea King on my shortlist - though I'll have to look for the British version you mention.

I was once a very keen modeller (plastic and balsa), but once flight simulators improved to the modern standard, I considered virtual aircraft to give me all the aeronautical satisfaction I needed.
This, however, could be a very fruitful return to the hobby - I am getting too decrepit to enjoy the more strenuous activities in life and was getting very tired of sitting in front of the computer all day, every day (although my purchase of Rise of Flight has injected a little more enthusiasm of late).

I know what you mean about not doing this anymore I used to spend hours building all these kits, but like you say you can put all the same time and effort into a FD model and get to fly it in the end.... but I am also looking for that "less digital" pass time right now!

Thanks for those links - the subjects look good.

I'm surprised at the pricing, considering the seller's claim to be the largest UK retailer of model kits (I've never heard of them), though that could mean it might be hard to find a better price.
It does suggest legitimate 'collector's item' status.

Still, I will look around
