Hawker Hunter Trainers for FSX - thanks (movie)

Post by Arni »

Just wanted to say a big thankyou to Dave Garwood for the Hunter T7's pack.
Awesome product.
Many of the registrations I worked on when serving on 237 OCU at Honington and 16Sqdn Laarbruch.
I have spent most of this evening flying them around the Mach Loop, and did a quick video of it:

I'll do some screenshots another day.
I cannot understand how it was released a year ago, and I only just found it (via a YouTube movie).
I really must visit CBFS more often.
Still really enjoying Rick's Hawk (SkySim), it is so nice to fly.

Finally, a great job of the RR Avon Sounds by Mark Cranston.

Hi Arni :hello:

A bit 'undisciplined' from a flying point of view but I enjoyed it. Nice and smooth and well made ;)

Moved to the Gallery (as it seemed more appropriate). TksVM for taking the time to post it

Hi Pete, yes ex Buccs'.
Started at the OCU (as Flight Line Mechanic) early 1979, then 16 Sqn until fitters course, then went to RAF Benson for ten years working on Wessex & Sea King ECU deep-strip, and Andover ILS checkers 115 Sqdn.

I was on the Bucc OCU when the Red-Flag crash caused the grounding of the whole fleet, and we we given a whole flight line of Hunters out of storage.
We already had the four T7's for doing the Bucc' instrument training, but the pilots got very emotional about flying the F6 & FGA9 again.
I found the AVPIN starters on the single seaters quite entertaining. Having to crawl about underneath the aircraft after starting and pat the flames out with the big asbestos glove. :)

I managed to get a couple of GH flights in the T7's, Gerry Witt's was the pilot of the first one.

I have moved on since then, working for an F1 team. I am head of race-team IT and Telemetry Systems (got bored with A/C), and travel to each race.
Just like going on detachment 20 times a year!

Ah.. I see your location is Grove so.. adding 1+1 (as ex matelots are just about qualified to do).. I'm guessing the F1 team would be one headed by a certain Mr F Williams *-)

Good on ya Arni  ;)

Cheers Arni ;) I'll be it's a lot more fraught than going on detachment 20 times a year (for a number of different reasons) but I can see the analogy. Good luck with the rest of the season anyway. I doubt there's one of us here who wouldn't enjoy seeing Williams back at the front of the grid ;)

Oh.. and feel free to keep posting Hunter videos

A great video to watch and very nostalgic...I enjoyed it very much and found it very inspiring. I think I would like to try something similar in the Russell Fjord :welldone:
