Hi Eric :hello:

Much will depend on which panel you like flying with. Fraser has at least 3 different panels available covering the 803/6 (off the top of my head), one for the 810's and one for the 700's. As a type, one is pretty much no different to any other so it's what you're looking at inside which will count ;)
Of course, you can choose a panel and fly it with any 800 if you wish :cpu:

Much as Dave says :agree:

IRL :worried:

The 700 was the original and the 700D was more refined and powerful

The 800 was larger but at the expense or speed and range

The 810 was to give a Viscount the size of the 700 the range and speed of the 700 and was a thoroughbred among the marque and the fastest.

The 806 was an 800 frame with 810 engines but not the structure of the 810..which was beefed up so is a hybrid 800/810

In FS you will not notice a whole lot of difference especially on the routes you are likely to fly on, but Fraser has modelled them in.
The 806 type panel is a special BEA fit unlike other Viscounts causing a different type rating.

Whatever takes your fancy :)

Excellent

A cautionary note Eric.. you have to play ball with Frasers Viscount panels mate or you'll be losing engines. Follow the intuitive checklist though and you'll be fine ;)

Well I have installed it,printed and read the manual and tried my hand at it.Guess what,I love it although I am trying to work out why no 3 stops about half an hour into a flight.I manage to relight it and continue ok.I particularly like the British Midland repaints as these bring back memories of many visits to East Mids. EricT

Hi Eric :hello:

I can't remember if I put a randomiser (code to randomly select which engines fail in icing conditions without adequate protection  ) on those panels, but at any rate the engines can only fail if the power unit de-icers are not switched on and powered when the temperature is between about +2 and -18 depending on altitude. Additionally a fuel filter blockage due to ice particles can cause a flame out, the appropriate Filter Icing warning lamp will come on steady. The checklist will promp you if fuel heat is required ;)

It's also possible for the engines to overheat and fail if they are run at more than maximum continuous power for an extended period of time. After takeoff and flap retraction, the climb/cruise settings are Viscount 800/806 Dart 510 14000RPM, 520/510'C and Viscount 810 Dart 525/530, 14200 RPM 730'C.

cheers

Fraser
