Chilean Mine Rescue
I stayed up most of the night watching the BBC World News coverage of the mine rescue in Chile. What an inspiring story that is! It is so good to see good news for a change and I am amazed at how smoothly the rescue has been. Kudos to Jeff Hart, the American drill operator and to NASA for their help and the Chilean Government for their very thorough planning, teamwork and execution of the rescue. My prayers are with the miners and their families and everyone involved in their rescue.

Its certainly compulsive viewing. Rolling coverage on BBC news 24 here in the UK. Fantastic news that everyone is getting out alive. When the story originally broke i feared that all the miners had perished. I suppose the Hollywood script writers are putting pen to paper already.

Re: Chilean Mine Rescue
I was determined to see one of them rescued, not sure why, just seemed like the right thing to do. Watched last night, but fell asleep while they were tightening screws or whatnot. Tuned in several times throughout the day and didn't see any, but just managed to catch Juan Aguilar, No.29, surface. Quite an achievement! Bit sooner than the originally planned out by Christmas

I have been watching the resuce of the miners live via the internet. I am just amazed that have been able to get the miners out safely and quicker than what was predicted.

Absolutely brilliant.
Even for the guy who had to choose if he wanted to be greeted by his wife or his mistress.
He chose the mistress.

Re: Chilean Mine Rescue
bet he had a chilly reception
Yes.....indeed....one of the greatest rescues of all time.not only technically difficult but 100 percent successful.without injury, except perhaps to the guy mentioned above, who, it is believed, didn't have two black eyes when he came up
I guess a film will now be made and and as usual in such plots the hero wins the day against all odds, bu as we all know that would never happen in real life
This time it did

Re: Chilean Mine Rescue
Someone in the radio yesterday said they had been drawing lots to see who would be last out, because two or three wanted to be the last man and get his name ine the Guinness Book of records as the longest trapped underground or summit...
Best of luck to them all now, their lives are never going to be the same again.
