Hip Brit

Post by J0hn »

Hi Guys

I noticed in the ads for the '2011' RAF Review of Year that there is a picture of a Mi-8 Hip in Raspberry Ripple colours.

I was unaware of any serving, but internet research revealed that, not only are a pair at Boscombe Down, they are apparently regularly used over in Afghanistan by our lads - hired from third parties and flown by civvy pilots (pretty sure I read somewhere that the AAC are training pilots on the type). I've only ever seen one - an E.German type helping with construction work in Berlin, and boy did it make a racket!

Anyway, I would love to have such a beast in my FSX hangar, but I've never seen any on my travels. Does anyone know of a half-decent FSX version that is available?
The possibilty to repaint it to RAE colours would be a bonus.

The Mil 8 is a top machine, the RAE ones are leased and flown (I think) by rotary wing sprog test pilots at ETPS much of the time.

Nemeth Designs have a Mi Mil-17 (same thing) for FS9 but I bet it works in FSX.

These guys seem to think so - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/44109-neme ... mil-mi-17/
