Shawbury Fields for Ever!!!

Post by Trev Clark »

Just had an e-mail about this new scenery project and if you have a good PC, it looks what a 'proper' UK VFR scenery should look like!

Not bad! I actually knew where I was from the ruin in the second photo. I mean I would have had ATC shouting at me, but that's nothing new...

I remember using the FS2002 based nav simulator at 705 when I was at Shawbury, it was basically one of the instructors labours of love with off the shelf VFR scenery and then he'd hand placed 3d objects throughout the area to make it more useful for low level work.

Nice! I had my very first flying experience in a Chippie at Shawbury when I was a 13 year old ATC cadet. We used RAF Shawbury for powered flights and RAF Turnhill for glider flights.

Very, nice. I've been holding off getting Treescapes when I heard about that earlier. This is part of it.

It's certainly won't disappoint :)

They are still hoping to get this out for Christmas, but it looks a bit tight now!

Small world isn't it Skip.... wouldn't have been Andy Digby would it? He was instrumental in the RCS 'Squib' of which this is basically the scenery

I for one will be buying this!!

Brian, I'm sure it was, although he was about the only instructor I didn't fly with so his name isn't in my logbook.

Mind you we were all rubbish at flying helicopters in the sim so we just used a Corsair...

I shall be buying it, but I have not been there in over 27 years! Those ruins were probably not ruins in my day!
