Scenery CFG Error

Post by tg13 »

I keep getting this message at the start of FS9,even though all my add ons are working fine.Scenery.CFG File Error.Local Scenery Directory (Add On Scenery\MAIW UK APACHE BASES\Scenery)in scenery area.0.46 not found clik to continue.Any ideas as to why this flashes up when all the scenery is where it should be?

Hi tg13..

Do you know specifically where area 0.46 is? It looks very much like the scenery is referencing something not present hence the warning when you start FS. Unless you knew where the area was and how it's made up, you'd likely not be aware that something is missing as you wouldn't have seen it.. if that makes sense.
When you start FS up, are you at one of the Apache bases (I take it there are more than one)? I'm guessing you are otherwise the error wouldn't flag. It may be that an area is listed in the scenery.cfg and it's not present in your scenery directory (Addon Scenery in this case). This would cause the error you're seeing :)

Hi Dave,it's the same message i get for several sceneries,just different numbers.My default flight is Leuchars parked,engine off,so it's not to do with where i start from.As i say,i can go to ALL the add ons that are listed as not found and they appear in the directory,and at the locations they should be at,they are also ticked in the add on sceneries in settings.

Here are two ways that the "Local" line in Scenery.cfg can be used:-

Local=Imagine Simulation\KDTW Detroit
That one can only be used if the scenery is located within FS9

Local=G:\Program Files\VisualFlight\VisualFlightLondon\VisualFlightLondonTerrain
This one MUST be used if the scenery is located OUTSIDE FS9 and possibly on another drive

In either case if you go to the address the relevant scenery MUST be there, or you get the error message that you are seeing.

Have you changed the drive letter that your FS9 is on by any chance?
