Auster AOP5

Post by DispatchDragon »

Dave Molyneaux and the "Auster boys" Brian and Martin (and now Gary who has tweaked the sound to perfection) have just put the Final Beta Auster Mk5 out for FS9 -- based on (as usual) a currently flying aircraft G-AINE, The owner has provided a wealth of detail to make this the best so far....

The panel has a toggle to switch between the original 1940s panel and as it is today, likewise toggling I will add the optional belly tank.

It is a delight to fly.

It will available at http://www.classicbritishfiles.com very soon -- thank you gentlemen all , for those of you who like low and slow it
is the goods.

You can NEVER get enough Austers!!!

and before anyone asks -- No, there is nothing wrong with the tach, it really looks like that in the prototype.

Over 50 Auster types Garry :-O Although some types were just models with different engines and I haven't included those that didn't get off the drawing board.
You sometimes have to wonder if they'd have been a little more succesful in just sticking to a few models only.
Martin gave me a booklet 'The History of the Auster Aeroplane' by A.V.Hitchman, a director of the company in which he states that the production & spares of the AOP types subsidised the civilian aircraft production and that no models other than the Autocrat, Aiglet and Autocar series even reached the break-even point . :'(

Ah ! the tacho - had to look twice at that on the real cockpit photos - makes sense when you realise that it's orientated so that the cruise r.p.m. is at the top.

My Kaspersky Labs AV is saying that there is a virus and access is being denied! I hope that we haven't had another hack attack!

Its a pop up that appears to have something to do with advertising that was bought to keep the Pond funded -- I am waiting for Rob to surface but everything I can see backstage says its NOT the site....ALL of the library is safe -- if you wish to download the mk5 or anything else your safe -- just DONT click on that installer pop up
