Don't do it John
Difficult to tell exactly what that came out of. The seat is a Mk2 with type number 4P2 and 4P2 isn't listed at Martin Baker I'm sure I have a shot of one somewhere.. probably taken from the collection at Cosford. Anyways.. the Mk2 was fitted in such aircraft as the Hunter/Canberra/Attacker

John.. if this makes anything clearer, I find it difficult to keep track of 'Type' and 'Mk' numbers with these things. One would naturally assume that (for example) a Mk2 would have a 'type' number equating to 2.. eg, 2HC. This is how Martin Baker list them. However, Martin Baker don't have a Mk2 4P2 listed on their website! Look in a different direction toward Cosford and I found a shot of a Type 4P seat they have and it comes from a Jet Provost. MOST of Cosfords seats are listed by Type.. not by Mk.
Bottom line.. that seat may come from a Jet Provost. A safer alternative.. borrow Colin's grandad's hammer A bit excessive but I have a 7lb 'sledge' I can send at a moments notice too should it be necessary

Looked through my manual at work and that doesn't look like a MK2, there doesn't appear to be any legs attached to the bottom of the seat like a MK2 should have. Without better photo's it's hard to determine what type it is.
I sense a disturbance in the force

Hi Marcus..
Yes.. it's a bit of a mystery isn't it. No Mk2 looks like that at Martin Baker as far as I can see. Perhaps the clue is in the Type number.. 4P2. The 4P fitted to the Jet Provost looks similar but the lower seat front doesn't look quite the same Would the 4P2 indicate a 4P Mk2? Seems unlikely that anything would be designated so doesn't it. Small 'stamped' 4P2 and large embossed Mk2 would indicate the opposite.. to me anyway
No thanks John
