Re: Harrier
Still having problems. The aircraft folder that I installed from Simviation, is named IRIS Harrier. The extraction path for Rob's files is FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\Sigma Simulations Harrier. It would appear to my simple mind, that the extractor is looking for something that doesn't exist. I tried to rename the IRIS folder to Sigma etc, but it wouldn't allow me to do that.
Can anybody please point this tired old chap in the right direction?

Re: Harrier
Extract Rob VTOL gauge to some temporary location.
Look in the "Sigma Simulations Harrier" folder and drag 'n' drop the contents into your "IRIS Harrier" folder, overwriting when asked.

Hello Dennis,
I posted the picture here and i don't use FSX at all but give this link a try,
http://www.fs-freeware.net/flight-simul ... d-for-FSX/
Don't forget to install Robs gauge into the panel folder and either use his new panel cfg file or edit the original, i don't know whether you fly helecopters if you do the its "grandmother sucking eggs" if you do not and want any help give me a shout and i will try and help, i say helecopters because in FS2004 you need to change the settings from fixed wing but i don't know with FSX.
Please let us know if you succeed!
Cheers,
Roger.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
Re: Harrier
I tried the drag and drop method Dave ... still no gauges. I'm going to delete and re-install, using the Iris link that you supplied.
I do fly helicopters Roger. I'm one of the VFR Flyers, and we use them very often on our weekend jaunts. In fact, we are using them this sunday.
I've had the UKMIL Harrier for a long time, but thought I'd try the Sigma model as it's visually better. However, at the moment the UKMIL flys better. A case of, you pays your money ...
I'll keep you updated on this, just in case anybody else has this problem.

Re: Harrier
After a complete re-install, the aircraft flies beautifully. Does what it says on the tin. However, I'm still not seeing the panel and instruments properly.
I've posted some screenshots. One in the hover. One of the VC with missing instruments, and one showing what I believe are Rob's instruments, and no panel.

I've tried so many combinations, and now I just don't know where to go from here. I may have to console myself by flying in spot view or tower view.
Thanks to Dave and Roger for your input.
Dennis.

Re: Harrier
I haven't added Rob's gauge and it needed a fistful of forward trim. It is also a bit tricky in the transition.

I see that the mirrors and extra instruments display only in the 2-D cockpit view.

Re: Harrier
HUD is messed up as well isn't it. You should be able to look through it, looks solid to me in your shots.

It is transparent in the 2-D cockpit, see my edit.DarrenL wrote:HUD is messed up as well isn't it. You should be able to look through it, looks solid to me in your shots.

Re: Harrier
Hi George. Are you on the case? I'm wearing my rat catchers hat for this one.
If I go to the menu and select "Main Panel" I see it as per your shots. Loading the VC then pressing "a" I get what's showing in my shots.
It flies very well after I loaded Rob's mods.

Re: Harrier
The (dummy) mirrors are now displayed in the VC, but none of the digital instruments display and the HUD is opaque.
