Just bought this (Pt 2)

Post by VEGAS »

Hi folks,

I promised myself I would'nt buy anymore. So this has to be the last one. :$

As with any model its the detail that drags me in!

Got it for a good price from eBay and it came boxed as well.

The wife did'nt mind too much after I promised to treat her to something nice.

Looks good next to the other bits in the office. :)

Might keep it safe and in good shape for the antiques roadshow one day.

Hi Roger,

She is very well thanks. Or as well as can be given the fact she's enormous and fed up with large swollen ankles. :((

I think the novelty of having the bump has worn off now and we can't wait for the baby to drop. :agree:

That's a lovely model Eddie. Get it on some track with coaches behind and I'll drive all my BEA/BOAC buses/coaches up there with some passengers

Fortunately.. the famous CGH 'hammer' has broken my 'add to basket' finger and I have nowt else I want to buy.. not before buying everything I wanted first though :wall: There are a couple of special edition Routemasters available.. one carrying BOAC ad's the other carrying BEA ad's but they're standard LT buses rather than airline buses so I'm not interested.. thank goodness  There is one more bus I'd like.. the BEA 4RF4 but the only one available is one I'd have to paint myself and buy the transfer pack for. This little devil is £45.. I CBA to paint and I can't find what scale it is so it's off any list of 'things to buy' ;)

Hi Dave,

Believe it or not I am also looking at train sets!

I don't know what the hell is wrong with me. The missus thinks I'm having an early midlife crisis by buying model trains. :help:

Even though I explained that its still something I loved from my youth. :dunno:

Where will it end? Probably me having a bl**dy layout all round the house.

Dave

Maybe you can play with the real thing soon: http://www.lbpt.org/bea.html

Moving to Brooklands soon? http://www.lbpt.org/news.html

NB The web site seems to be inconsistent - once you get back to Home, the BEA RF vanishes from the listing

Yes Ian.. I'm well aware of what's happening at Brooklands..

Point is.. the BEA 4RF4 is privately owned and NOT part of what is/was the Cobham Bus Museum ;)
