Post by GaryJ »

Hey Guys, I see screenshots of the SRN4 Hovercraft on this forum, is this model still available anywhere?

Hi Gary :hello:

Rick made the SRN4 yonks ago while involved with the VFR scenery group (they who made loads of freebie stuff to match the VFR Photo Scenery). It was supposed to be part of Dover/Ramsgate/Calais with ferries to match. Not sure exactly what happened but the project never got finished (AFAIK) so didn't get released. It was made primarily for AI but I think it can be piloted (that memory of mine working overtime again) 8)
As it may not have been released.. I'll have to wait for Rick to OK me sending you a copy but I don't think he'll mind ;)

That's the first SRN4 that I had and it was ok, but having been lucky enough to have a copy of Rick's there is no comparison.

Rick's is for Ai, but it's a thing of beauty to look at!

Kind regards

John

That is a stunner there John. I was on the the Princess Anne back in 1978 when she was totally trashed by heavy seas and forced to beach at Wissant. Looks just how i remember it. although i think it had a blue stripe along the windows? That is why that model would mean so much to me :((

The 'blue' line would have been during it's Seaspeed days Gary (with BR logo's on the rudders) :)

You're not wrong Dave...

This image and many other great ones can be found at http://www.jameshovercraft.co.uk/hover/index.htm

It's strange that the last SRN4s should lay so close to where they were created (IOW), but without engines etc, they've no chance of making a return 8)
