If you use Gatwick (& Heathrow) Xtreme in FS2004 and have experienced a long pause just before touching down (I know DaveB has too), then Gary Summons has issued an update to solve it.
It has been available for a while, but I've only just seen it after going searching for possible answers after seeing it again at EGKK this morning.
The pause was caused by something loading from Heathrow at that particular point.
So the fix is actually an update to Heathrow Extreme (V2.15), rather than Gatwick. And it's for FS2004 only, FSX doesn't have the problem.
I've tried it and it works.

Just to add, it probably only works if you run Heathrow v2.
Don't think there's any fix if you have Heathrow v1.

Heathrow hey... who the hell would have thought that!
At one point in the distant past, I've removed Gatwick Xtreme and pulled all the underlying bgls for Gatwick (standard UK2000) leaving a pathetic default and it STILL paused. At that point, I gave up flying from Gatwick.. well.. landing there, even against the flow of AI!!Cheers David.. I'll get that little tinker now
