FSX: Enstrom 280FX (helicopter)

Post by FlyTexas »

Not exactly a classic helicopter but the company has been in the helicopter business for over 50 years. Courtesy of Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations. Comes in skid, float, and doorless versions, with multiple liveries. The designer says a FS2004 version is in the works. Can be downloaded from flightsim.com.

Maybe not "classic" but definitely with pedigree as the Enstrom was for most of the 1960's and 1970's a favorite of Oil Executives because it was small, light, but had a cabin and it was actually quiet inside. It was only the arrival of the 206BIII and 206L in the 1970's that the Enstrom was "dethroned". It was also used in quite a few TV Shows and Movies during that period, most notably as the clone to the real one used by Red Adair in the movie "Hellfighters".
