Happy to be gardening this afternoon ....

Post by 511Flyer »

... because I was treated to a low fly past of the BBMF Lancaster. It was a big surprise when I heard that unmistakable roar, and looking up, there she was, heading straight for me. Just Boootiful in the sunlight.

I Googled BBMF, to see if I could find out where she had been, and found that she was scheduled to do a flypast just down the road at East Molesey. I don't know what the occasion was, but it might have had something to do with Hampton Court. Nothing else of any note in East Molesey that I can think of.

Hi,

Nothing like them is there , likewise the Spit,

There is a great sound package i have for my Lanc in FS2004 and if you do a close fly by in tower view while not 100% of what you heard its not far off, its a real treat,

Try Flightsim.com/Library/Sounds/merlin, 5th one down the page and read the readme from Doug Smith and Des Braban, the Merlin for the Spitfire they do is excellent as well, just give it full throttle and turn up your speakers

Cheers,

Roger.

511, that's the best way to catch them ... unannounced and out of the blue.

BTW

Liz Taylor's sentiments on gardening.

I agree. It adds something to the day when you hear that familiar sound, look up and there's the Lanc. Or A Spitfire, P-51 or Sally B. With Duxford just down the road, it happens fairly frequently here.

How can anyone not like aeroplanes ? ;)
