Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyllllantysiliogogoch......."is the name of a Welsh town" TRUE
On a beautiful summer's day, two foregn tourists were driving through Wales
Upon arriving atLlanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyllllantysiliogogoch, they stopped for lunch, and one of the tourists asked the waitress………….
“Before we order, I wonder if you could settle an argument for us.
Can you pronounce where we are, very, very, very slowly?”
The girl leaned over and said................“Burrr Gurrr King."
I know it's stupid but for that reason alone it could be so true EricT

Re: Llanfairpg...
Cute but you got the spelling wrong!
Try....
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyllllantysiliogogogoch
You were missing one of the <go's> at the end.
A former good friend and neighbour when I lived in the UK was born just a few miles from there. She regularly went shopping in Llanfair PG until she left the island and moved to my town.

Re: Llanfairpg...
wow what a name for a town.
I doubt I could pronounce it, but then again, I might be able to slur it out after drinking 12 pints of the black stuff.
That jokes been used with a town here in Florida called Kissimme . The correct pronunciation is Kiss-sim-me.
The confused think it's. Kiss--me.

As Al Murray says "What's up with the French? They have a town called "Brest", yet none of them find it funny"!
The whole Llanfair ...... name things is a bit of a con; it was originally just known as Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll but the name as we know it today was cobbled together in 1860 as an early example of a publicity stunt, to ensure they had the longest railway station nameplate in Britain.
