Very nice

Who's paying for it, and where's mine? I've been around over half a century, diligently paid my taxes & supported the various governments....and been within 20 feet of meeting the Queen (in 1975!!).

I deserve a medel....as do firemen, ambulence workers, refuse collectors, teachers, powerstation workers, (a nod to my dad, who at least DID receive proper medels & citations), and the grand folk on here :excited: where's our medel.

Oh great... and it'll cost me another £50 to get my medals re-done and uniforms sorted. They're not really "free". 8)
It's NOT real!!!!!

If you don't want it maybe I can make you an offer. ;) It would look nice sitting along side my Prince Harry and Kate Middleton mug. But seriously, that's a nice looking medal.

I'll be getting one of these and think it's rather a nice gesture. I'll be quite proud of it, if people are going down the "who's paying for it" line, I pay my tax too so rest assured, I'm paying for my own medal!! ;)

:dunno:
When the Silver Jubilee medal was handed out, each squadron at Odiham was given only two, the CO had one 8) , the other was given to the SAC ops clerk! That was in the days when we had money (ish) and hardly anyone had a medal at all, unless they were very old (like M Pilot Taff Walker, who had a full WW2 set!) or (like everyone EXCEPT the ops clerk) had the GSM (N.I.), which one day I will polish up and wear on a remembrance day parade

Funny how money can be found for the little things in life
