Reliving old memories...

Reliving old memories...

While taking Echo around the World I am reliving moments from the past in certain locations.

Here are a few shots taken as I savoured a flight in 1960 that we flew to get a photograph:-

Thanks for looking :fly:

Nice set of shots Peter ;)

One point.. you're flying 609 'in the sim' yet 609 isn't present in the B&W original.. or am I being picky? *-) Although I've seen that shot a few times, I'd not realised until now that 'Echo' wasn't there. I'm sure there's a logical explanation so please excuse the memory failure ;)

Quite right Dave...Echo wasn't serviceable that day, so I flew Lima. One doesn't always get to fly ones own aircaft but nearly always when it is available. I remember one occasion when flying from Khormaksar to Nairobi, I had to let the Boss fly Echo and I had to fly his Delta because there was something wrong with it and he wanted to be sure to get there!! I did fly all twelve of our FGA9s, sometimes even for a big display Echo was not available :)

BTW...even on the previous day when we flew the same sortie but cloud obscured Kilimanjaro, I did not have Echo...That day I had Hotel.

I have added a previously unpublished photo that was taken the day before the Kilimanjaro photo...Kili was cloud covered. I can't put it on here because of size but it is at the end of the original post:-
