Rob, I have a Coolit Domino liquid cooler in my PC. Its another one for you to consider, if it will fit in your case.

Could always mount the case fan on the outside.

Thanks guys. I've ordered a Corsair liquid cooler now, so space isn't an issue.

Thanks Art; will probably do that. Just need to work out if I can fit Windows and FSX on the SSD together now!!!

Hopefully my last question now..........hopefully!!

My Gigabyte motherboard has several small connectors for 'fans' on it; little 4-pin connectors. The fans in the case all seem to have just one power connector, the big chunky 4 pin thing. Presumably the motherboard connectors are to control fan speed etc? Am I missing something here? Do I have the 'wrong' sort of fans to be able to do this or do I simply hook them up to the PSU and leave them to run full speed permanently?

Apologies if this is ludicrously obvious & the answer is staring me in the face!!!!!

It sounds like you have the wrong sort of fans matey. Case fans normally (although not always) have small 3 or 4 pin connectors that plug onto the motherboard

Ben; they're fans that came already installed in my Cosmos S case. They have a small 3 pin connector which then is connected to the big 4 pin connector. I'm slightly confused! Particularly as my motherboard has small 4 pin connections for fans!!!

I think they're either/or mate. Different mobo's have a varying number of case fan connections and these connections are never in exactly the same place.. the exception being the CPU fan which is generally on the top edge of the board close to the CPU. With your fans having dual connections, it allows you to still be able to use them even if there aren't the mobo connections or, if the mobo connections are too far away.. ie, the fan leads won't reach

Having been looking on t'interweb this morning I'm sure it said somewhere that my Corsair PSU will adjust fan speed according to temperature so maybe that will do the fan speed. Or maybe I've been in the sun too long & dreamt that......?!?!?!

I know that the TX series can control the PSU fan according to temp but I feel sure that any case fan control would come off the mobo via those little 3-pin sockets you mention.. ultimately off any temp control hardware built into the mobo and/or via associated mobo control software. You probably realise that and I'm stating the obvious You used to be able to get fan extension leads and some fans I've bought come with adaptors to enable various fitments. Regardless, even in cool Blighty.. I'm sure all my fans have run constantly so I wouldn't worry unduly

Alas I live in Qatar Dave so the rare useful-ness of Blighty's cool weather is of no use to me!! Never thought I'd miss the cold!!!!! I'll just plug the fans directly into the PSU and have them running max chat until I figure out what I'm doing!!! Probably for the best having them full power I suppose, although air-con keeps the room cool the PC is near a full-length window at present.

Stupid person building a PC from scratch = recipe for confusion & disaster!!!
