That was a Robbe 146 model I think. Those are rather expensive if you can find one now. I guess after this, they just got that bit more expensive. I'm no r/c expert but it looks like it had an absence of roll trim and perhaps a natural tendency to roll to the left which could not be corrected
A nasty, sudden gust of wind can do that Toby.. well, it can do it to my Champ There's so many things we don't know about that clip. Did the model have 4 engines or did it have 2 and one cut causing the asymmetry Did his txer go on the blink As mentioned earlier, the first thing you do is test control surfaces and engines. Given the choice.. I think I'd sooner have the model fly off into the distance like Eddie's Hawk rather than smash to smithereens in front of a load of folk
I wonder should operation of some of these things be licensed or at least subject to controls? If that thing hit a person it could kill them. I'm no H&S nut but honestly with irresponsible or inexperienced controllers these machines are an accident waiting to happen.

Hi Dave, I think he was trying to ensure that the engines were shut down; seemed to be looking at them, and he called for an extuinguisher.
Trying to save the last shreds of value in the whole project.
