1947 Lancasterian crash
There's a 45-minute video posted at CalClassic about a BSAA Lancaterian that disappeared on a flight in 1947 in South America. I think you will find it very interesting.

Re: 1947 Lancasterian crash
I remember seeing this documentary when it was broadcast the very first time, only months after Stardust's discovery. Quite a nice surprise to see it again, can't believe it's been twelve years already...

Nice find, Art. I shall watch it this weekend - the Lancastrian is a favourite aircraft of mine.

Re: 1947 Lancasterian crash
Glad you all found it interesting.
There's a Lancastrain sim at BritSim. I installed it, and updated the panel to something more late 40s/early 50s (one VOR, two ADFs, dual RMI, and the CalClassic DC-6 autopilot). I also added the Lancaster sound file the developer suggested. Looks great; sounds great, especially with that Merlin sound (the original installation's sound was aliased to the default DC-3); and flies great.

Its for FS9, but ports over quite nicely if given some replacement prop disc textures. Its one of my all-time favourite aircraft in any flight sim
Here's that most famous of Lancastrians ( for all the wrong reasons )...Star Dust herself;

And Sky Path, operated by Skyways Ltd

Beautiful. But stay away from the Andes when the weather is actual IFR!
