Glad you like the models chaps There not that much of a handfull The stryker was the first model i could fly succesfully after progressing from the cub

Winds supposedly light nw where we are. May be tempted to take chippy for a flight or 2 Was going to wait till this bloody rapes gone but what the hell
Ideal conditions now but no.1 daughter and bf called round and a bit of wines been flowing so dont want to be drunk in charge

Just put this video on YT this evening.

Never got round to uploading it til now.

From a flight back in May. Not had the Radian long and took it to Dovestones Reservoir, near to the Manchester/Yorkshire border.

A memorable day as it was the day the Radian went out of range and crashed.

I have the footage of that too but its far too distressing to see.

Although the scenery is great.. it does look like you chose a precarious position for recovery Fortunately, you don't have to worry about lack of battery pwr with the Radian!

Dave, your right. It's very risky flying over reservoirs. Especially if the contact goes down.

Couldn't resist that day. It was something I really wanted to film as that's my mountain bike territory.

Glad I've filmed it from the air.

And that day it did go out of range and nose dived into grass.

Took me about 30 mins trek to go and get it. Fearing the worst en route.

When I reached the crash site it had cracked the nose underneath and part of the tail.

How it wasn't completely destroyed I'll never know.

Just glued the cracks up and job done.

At least it didn't end up in the wet stuff. Then it's gone forever.

You're so right. A few posts ago, you mentioned the mess we'd all be in if we were still confined to using balsa models. I honestly couldn't imagine flying one now. Seeing that big model Tony is making just sends shivers through me.. him too I think What at first seems like a complete disaster with foam often isn't when you take a second look. The Cat I have has had a right old life. At some point, it's lost the complete fin and horizontal stabilizer.. pull the cockpit off and there's repair evidence that at some point, the carbon spar has ripped through the fuse pulling a chunk of fuse with it. Add to that the dinks I've had and stil she flies. Perhaps she's not as stable as she might be but she still flies

Out early again this morning with the P51D. I really like this model.. it's everything you could ask for. It'll go low and 'comparatively' slow ( did a blinder this morning at around 80% throttle.. gave me goosebumps! ).. it'll go like a rocket and it's nimble as you like without being unstable. Great balance.. I love it!
One thing about the ZX10 which actually works in it's favour is the odd throttle slider. Set it where you want it to be and forget it until you need to adjust it again. It doesn't need your thumb to be omni present on the LH stick like more conventional controls. Of course, it's only a 3 channel txer so that is not a plus point AND.. it's 27mhz but to be honest, that isn't a problem for me here.

No clear blue sky here and the wind is friskier than the advertised 5mph. Plenty of mist again this morning too and I enjoyed keeping the Mustang at it's lower edge for a few runs.. gently flicking in and out of vision. Looked a treat Uber disappointment as I left to go out though. I'm used to using both batteries on the Cat but I realised I don't have a Deans male to EC3 female so I can only use one batt in the P51 at the moment That'll be sorted asap

I was wondering about that, Eddie. It looks fantastic for biking. Apart from the noise of model aircraft and the chance of one plummeting to the ground No wonder you're so insistent on wearing a helmet!

Had a cracking morning. Mate popped over and we spent about two hours flying taking it in turns flying the aircraft.

The Funjet (top centre) is absolutely astonishing to watch in flight. Proper proper fast.

Smashin' mate. Boy.. am I envious of that grass! It's proper stuff that takes the sting out of not so smooth landings

I'm a bit shocked by the size of the Mig15 mate. I imagined it to be a similar size to the P51 or bigger than that anyway Talking of P51's.. if Techy ever gets around to posting the baby P51.. I've decided I'll use that to practise more ambitious manoeuvres on. Until then.. getting back in one piece is my overriding priority
