AES224 at Heathrow...

I updated my Aerosoft AES today and also downloaded some British Airways vehicle textures...Here are some shots I took at Heathrow:-


Here the FollowMe vehicle has just met us.


And from the cockpit.


We are led to Stand 192 and the BA steps are approaching.


The door is open and the BA Bus is waiting.


The catering vehicles do not seem to have changed but they work well.


There seems to be a new chap to guide the Pax onto the bus.


The vehicular traffic is busy here and various vehicles whiz past (Never heard of that airline!).


A BMI is just leaving from the next stand...


...and taxying out.


Here is the fuel bowser conecting up to the hydrant...There still seems to be no driver for this vehicle.


There is a nice splash of green from Aer Lingus.


Here is another BMI arriving.


All loaded up now and the push back tug arrives...


...and the engineer connects us up.


Away we go...There was not too much wingtip clearance from the BMI!


The tug has been disconnected and the man is about to give me a thumbs up to taxy.


Not much of a queue for take-off and we only have to wait for a couple.


Tucking away the Dunlops and...


...climbing away.

PS: I didn't know that BA still flies the Trident 3 in 2012.

Absolutely marvellous! Not wishing to be a spoil sport however, is it possible to do all that stuff with the genuine period ground crew and appliances etc.? I know there is plenty of retro AI aircraft around.

Well I just like doing it with the Trident because it is what I did! I like to pretend that I have a real flying restored Trident and I operate it on special charters into today's airports...The airport, ground crew, appliances and AI aircraft are all from today, but I'm flying my old vintage aeroplane from my time, which is yesterday. That is how I like to do it, but plenty of people do built retro airports and fit them with retro AI...Why don't you give it a try?

I think it's a 'rock and a hard place' mate. While Peter could remove all the modern aircraft you see at LHR in those shots, there is, to the best of my knowledge, only one retro Heathrow (cheers Wolfgang) You could populate that with period aircraft and whatever static ground appliances it contains would be period but AES would still use modern applicances. I'm pretty sure this is how it would work anyway. You have to bite the bullet sometimes mate. The only way it can be done without building everything yourself is how Peter shows it.

If there are alternatives, please let me know
