Poll

Post by Nigel H-J »

Bound to happen at some time so thought I would do it!!!!

Presently I use FS9 and have always been happy with it but now with all the posts conerning P3D it is certainly whetting my appetite but unfrotunately as I understand you have to be on the internet to down load it/register and run it and unfortunately the chances of me being able to return to the net are very slim with the way things are presently. However, it would be interesting with the advent of P3D being much improved on FSX (so I have read) to see who will be doing what in the near future.

You can tick as many boxes as you like as it will be interesting to know whether FS9 or FSX will eventually fade away in favour of P3D.

Kind regards
Nigel.

Voted for both FSX & P3d.

I like P3d, but personally, I don't think it's quite ready to replace FSX yet as it has a few too many niggles.

So far seems to flying in the face of the sim generally with FS9 out front. Does this reflect the superiority of UK represented a/c in FS9 over FSX? Or to put it another way, FSX is poorly represented for Brit a/c. :dunno:

I used to have FS9 and FSX installed, but deleted the latter after I tired of single digit frame rates and chronic instability. At some point when I upgrade my machine, I'll probably reinstall FSX...but I doubt I'll ever dispose of FS9. There are just too many excellent add-ons to be had for the older sim. Plus I'm addicted to Golden Wings!

Its actually FSX / P3D out in front, as there's only one option for FS9 and 3 for the other two ;)

Hi Ben :hello: Yep, only one option for FS9 and the reason for that is I really wanted to find out which way simmers here are going whether it be just remaining with FSX or combining it with P3D or even even ditching FSX in favour of P3D.

FS9 sadly can only be polled on its' own as it is not backward compatible with FSX and P3D a/c yet both of these can actually use FS9 a/c.

I am on leave after Friday night so will not be keeping up with the progress of the poll until I get back on 17 September.

Kind regards
Nigel

I dunno where the math comes from but FSX and P3D only beat FS9 when all 3 questions are added. FSX on it's own is 30%.. FSX and P3D is 15% and P3D alone is 7%. FS9 stands at 48% so those who only use P3D equate to 7% and FSX plus FSX/P3D users equate to 45%.

That's the great thing about Poll's.. they're useless  Sri Nige ;)

LOL, I was just pointing out that there are actually more folk not using FS9 than using it, suggesting that the overall trend is away from FS9, were as it looks at first glance as though FS9 is the most popular. ;)

As they say, lies, damned lies and statistics :cpu:

No need to apologise Dave, I am more interested in seeing where simmers are going rather than the statistics of a poll. 8)

This Poll is simply to find out with the advent of P3D whether or not it will entice many away from FS9 and FSX. As far as I am concerned I wil be staying with FS9 even if I was back on the internet with the option of downloading P3D.

The only change I would like to see with FS9 is an improvement with ATC, other than that my FS9 is running maxed out with excellent performance Heathrow 100% traffic all the clouds you can muster Trident VC Cockpit View gives Framerates 50-60%.

The one downside to changing to a new sim is the cost of having to pay out again for addons to improve the experience, not tight, but just cannot afford to!!

Kind regards
Nigel.
