A Challenge

Post by dodger »

Hi,

I came across a video on youtube of a Lufthansa MD11 cockpit landing at Mariscal Ducre Intl at Quito Ecudador and thought i would see what it was like doing the same thing in F9, it does not do it justice scenery wise of course but i did enjoy it.

Nice one Roger, landing in Quito has always been one of my favourite challenges, especially as I used to live there (wife #2 was from Quito).

If you want to enhance the experience with some good scenery have a look for the name Boris Forero over at simMarket, he has some top quality scenery available for both FS9 and FSX at very reasonable prices. His site is http://www.borisforero.net/ and you can find a full set of charts there too. There are also some freeware mesh packages out there that put a little more life into the region.

The heavies normally only land on 35, whatever the weather, but if you pick something smaller there are published approaches for 17 too, and you get very close to the cumulo-granite that way.

Hi Gents,

Yes its certainly the challenge that keeps me going in flight sim, i have just about got Kai Tak nailed!!

As for Quito, a great scenic area and thanks for the link, its got me thinking about trying FSX ,something i have not really been bothered about all these years but it will be make a change.

Cheers,

Roger.
