Re: Aircraft Type Ratings
Hi Steve
We 'sort of' have a rule that pilots make at least 10 fare paying flights in a type before applying for another type. I'm honestly not sure if DM has been enforcing this.. I have a feeling he's not. The reason this was introduced was to stop pilots having ratings coming out of their ears and not flying the aircraft. Also.. there's been a practise of having lots of ratings and leaving aircraft all over the globe.. many of which (the pilots that is) have become inactive leaving the aircraft stranded.
I don't mind allocating ratings.. the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned but I DON'T care for a third of our fleet to be off station for no better reason than the pilots not being arsed to return them. Rule of thumb.. try the aircraft you think you might like to fly.. look at the routes THEN apply for the rating rather than 'i'll try this.. no, I don't like it' The CEO has to go through all aircraft ratings that have expired and remove them from your profile.. not an easy job if the world and his dog have ratings sheets longer than the schoolboys book of excuses
Nothing personal here Steve.. it's not a ticking off Concorde rating allocated I know from your profile that you've flown Concorde before so just do 2 training flights to get a full rating back

Re: Aircraft Type Ratings
thanks for that, the reason i have chosen the ratings i have is because i have past experience with them and are some of my favourite aircraft.
Concorde was going to be the last one i asked for, for a while anyway until i get some more flying time for you lot.

Rgr that I didn't know HJG had a Concorde on their site.. something new learned today
Steve.. check the seating out on Concorde at FSA. I see you only have 89 pax booked? Think it should be 100 or thereabouts at mega cost. If you allocate all the seats first class (as they should be) you only get half the pax but the same amount of revenue split if that makes sense. If you're gonna do plenty of flights in the old girl.. we'll have to see if we can sort it out
