Belfast's autopilot?

Post by aeroart »

Are any of you using the free Alphasim Short Belfast? I didn't have much luck with the autopilot. There's no documentation with the model. I substituted the autopilot from the CalClassic DC-6, which worked fine. Can anyone offer some help with the Belfast's AP?

Thanks.

The autopilot on the real thing was the same as that used on the Trident believe it or not. I never used the one that came with the Alpha model. I had been doing some work on it earlier in the year but put it on hold as real world got really busy.

Was the AP on that model not the old default one that came with FS98/2000 releases? Been a long time since I've seen it but I feel sure it's old hat.. probably too old hat to work in FS9 *-)

Ok, I'll see how the Trident's work out on the Belfast. Thanks for your replies, Dave and Ben.

Just had a squint at the panel of the Belfast as released as a freebie, and it seems to be the usual old amalgam of default instruments. So unless I have modified it and subsequently forgotten - known to happen - I don't see what the problem could be:

//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window01]
file=Navpanel.bmp
size_mm=500
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=7
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL

gauge00=lear_45!autopilot, 50,15,400
gauge01=Lear_45!radio stack, 160,76,175,165
gauge02=Boeing777-300!MFD, 14,77,145
gauge03=bendix_king.vor1, 341,78,146,143

If it is set up for that combination any other replacement autopilot should work too -always assuming we are talking about FS9?

Hi Allen,

I substituted the Lear autopilot for the CalClassic DC-6 AP, and it works fine. Thanks for your reply.
