Thank you Ian.
Bit mystified by the circuitous tracks in the fields, do the farmers grow "weed" in those parts?

Apart from their obvious use as landing aids for alien spacecraft, my best guess is that the field has been used for sheep or cattle and that the farmer has been out distributing food out of the back of a Landrover. They'd normally do this in extended wet weather so the tracks would have been mud but it in the photo it looks as though the tracks have now dried and the field has been planted with a crop.

Well.. that sort of money is around those parts. A lot of it's dodgy though
Used to have a pub down the road from Stapleford in Havering-atte-Bower. Sounds posh doesn't it until I say Romford was 3 miles further down the road!
I think you'd better get FTX England Ian. I know you want to AND I know where there's still a copy going cheap
Not being a rich rail employee, I couldn't afford all these £20-odd airports anyway

I'll reconsider when I see the first of their WWII era fields. I could see me flying England in a 40s setting. We already have the aircraft!
As for the rail thing, well, it's difficult to deny that the rewards are fairly generous compared to the commitment required
I know it's wrong and that this sort of militant trade union is 50 years out of date. It will be killed off eventually and from my personal pov if it means I have to work more 'efficiently', then that'll be my cue to leave. The battle to reduce the taxpayer's subsidy of the railways hasn't started yet but it will definitely be bloody. At the moment it's subsidised nearly 50% by the taxpayer and just over 50% by the users (also taxpayers) who can't afford to pay much more. Efficient working practices are all that's left to aim for, but Saint Bob is ready for them
I think the railways must be the last dinosaur left of the old state industries (including the dockers and printers and state airlines of course!).

Hello Ian,
Pinching your post but i have ORBX NA PNW on route today and i am looking forward to enjoying many hours flying after using the Demo of it,
I deliberated which to buy first but i think there will be enough to keep me going for a while with this one!
Cheers,
Roger.

To be honest Roger.. the free 'payware' airport (and associated surroundings) you get with the demo area IS the demo area. The rest of it is mile upon mile of trees and forestation. Believe me.. you'll get bored with seeing trees before very long
Other airports within the demo are ORBXised which means they're slightly more attractive than default but not by much it has to be said. They're different.. lets put it that way
Fly as far east as Seattle and you're out of area and back in defaultland.
It's all very nice though.. especially the little airport

Dave. I know you had a recent ear operation but are you sure it wasn't an eye op you were booked in for?
That's twice today you've misread a post and gone off on a tangent! Roger is saying that he's already got the demo and he's now bought the full Pacific North West scenery which covers a ginormous area.
Btw, didn't you fly NW in the Olympic peninsula in the demo? There's a huge mountain range there that you seem to have missed
