Chopper

Post by TSR2 »

Hi Chaps,

Quick question. Does anyone know of a good (freeware or payware) Gazelle or Lynx or Puma or Wessex or Chinook for FSX that has Northern Ireland Army or RAF paints readily available?

UKMil has a Gazelle you could use.

Best,

I pulled a Gazelle a few days ago listed as 'FSX' but it's actually the old FS9 model.. maybe older than that but with a different set of gauges. Tolga Piskin is the name on the label but there's probably a lot of collaboration gone on. Not sure what paints there are for it. I only got it because of the RN Sharks livery :)

UKMIL have a dedicated FSX Puma too mate and probably a Chinook :)

Simshed did a Wessex for FS2004 and I flew it for a while in FSX.

Hi Chaps,

I forgot about the ukmil Puma, I'll collect it in the morning. I just flew the RAF default Merlin and it was very rewarding hill hoping across Co. Down. However, not very realistic in NI. I've had the delights of cow chasing in a Chinook many moons ago in real life, but its not the most nimble beast. Its a real shame there isn't an army Lynx for FSX. Anyway, I'll try the puma and see if I get the desired result and show you what I've been up to. Dave, two DVDs burnt tonight so I'll get them posted tomorrow. :cpu:

Yee-haa :excited: Cheers Ben

A search on the interweb should show an FSX conversion for the old Alpha Lynx.. I use the word 'conversion' loosly of course. I think Danny Garnier is responsible for that one. It substitutes old Alpha gauges for FSX versions.. that's the main thrust of the conversion. It suffers, as they all do from disappearing rotors but if you can stand that.. the Alpha Army Lynx is out there ;) He did the same for the RN Lynx too though you wouldn't have seen too many of those zipping over the hedgerows in NI I fear  Mods are out there for Future Lynx too.. look for Erwin Welker at Allnodes. I've not tried these as Future Lynx seems to work reasonably well anyway but I have the files.. lynxupdate.zip by Bob Chicilo and lynx-glasscockpit-asim.zip by Erwin Welker :)
