Keep battling on, Ian. Thinking of you, and hoping for the best, or at least a long delay in the worst. Keep us informed, as and when you can.

Ian, hang in there! I just hope your wrong about having a short time left. After all, there are still many trails to explore, if your up to it. "Always look on the bright side of life" - I can remember singing that in the emergency room when I was hospitalized in Florida last year. Somehow, that helped. Please do keep us posted.

Well mate, at least you were prepared for it. It must be very hard for some family and friends though, so hopefully they can get to the point of acceptance that you have reached.

Anyway, bacon sandwich with HP and butter. You can't go wrong with that. And on the plus side, you'll now be able to eat any old shit and not have to worry about consequences ;)

Can't get decent bacon here (it's all that streaky stuff), so I'll have 2 cheese on toast with poached eggs & HP for my breakfast on your behalf.

Ian, that's cruel, Mate. The only upside of the hospice is that they can deliver pain relief that would make hospital staff have kittens.
All carbon-based life enjoys company; hopefully you can draw some comfort knowing that we're with you always in spirit, even if we can't be there.

Careful, Alex--remember what happened to Eric's rabbit , mixing toasties! (21/10/12)

Hi Ian, just got down to the library mate as wanted to know how you got on, really sorry to hear of your news but given the timescales lets all hope you can at least push it to the 10 year mark and even beyond....just don't let it beat you!!!!

Now, about this bacon butty you are about to make, any chance of sharing? .........!!

Kind regards
Nigel.

Looks like I've got my hands full cooking you lot breakfast  I've got large free range eggs and best unsmoked back bacon and just been to Tesco for some of their finest Lincolnshire sausages. I prefer it on Hovis seeded wholemeal but we've got white doorstep for the plebs  I'm a ketchup man myself but there's HP and barbecue as well!

You're right, Ben. No point in worrying about long-term health now  I lost nearly two stone during my rather pointless diet but since then I haven't had much appetite so have gone for higher fat options to balance it out. My weight is stable but I've had some muscle loss due to lack of exercise which is due to pain and reduced lung capacity. The pain is better controlled now so I'll try and get out and do some walking - if I ever get time when I'm not doing a project or entertaining!

The nurse has given me all these forms to fill in because I'm apparently entitled to all sorts of money. It's no good to me but Karen's got ideas about kitchens and carpets and stuff. 'Yeah - not in my lifetime' I said

Nigel - sorry I missed your earlier post about lawnmowers. In fact I did buy a Bosch as they were the Which? best buy. But I decided not to go for the cordless lithium battery version. I would have done if it was for me but I can't see a woman managing the batteries efficiently. If Boeing can't manage them properly what chance has a mere female? (Don't let any wives see that comment - thanks.)

Thanks for all your support and repartee. I'll go and put the apron on!

Ian :)

Just hope that your dearly beloved hasn't read that as it could hurt!!!

No worries matey, just a thought. BTW just a bit of brown sauce with the Lincolnshire sausages will do nicely!!
