Taxiing The Hurricane
I have Aeroplane Heavens Freeware Hawker Hurricane and when taxiing the aircraft doesnt seem to want to turn. Is this how it is and I just have to live with it or is there a way round it. Plus does anyone know if theres a repaint out there for Alphasims Hawker Hunter in the RN blue and white paint scheme.

Are you trying to steer it??
I don't know the model, but if is is set up correctly then it will have a free castoring tailwheel and you will need to use differential braking to turn.

Or you could just change the Castor Angle from what it is to about 40...You can then steer it on the ground with ailerons if you have autorudder on. I am assuming that you do not have pedals.

I do have pedals yesterday I tryed flying it back to Duxford but the gate that I was trying to get out of was a but tight. Lets just say its like trying to do a 360 turn in a tractor on a country road.

Hello Thomas.
The AH Hurri does indeed have a castoring tailwheel and differential brakes as per the real thing.
Rob Sanderson's Hurris are also set up the same way.
It can be a real mare to taxi especially as you tried,wriggling out of a tight spot,unfortunately on
Fs there are no helpers to grab a wing tip and swing you round.
The best way with it(I have a "live" rudder too)I've found is to go very slowly with little power on,
keep an eye on the brake pressure gauge and steer with your rudder and differential braking.
It also needs rudder work on landing to keep it on the runway.
Watch your loading too,the heavier it is the more power you need to move and the more
chance it'll run away with you.
I normally display it with just under half tanks and no guns or ammo on board,
you've only got 1000 gee-gees to play with,so you have to think what you're doing,
much moreso than with a Spit 1a/II with the same engine.
If you think the Hurri is hard work,try AH's lovely free 109E,now that IS fun to taxi and land.
I haven't a clue about the Hunter mate,if it was Dave Garwood's then you'd probably find something
on here for it.
