Peter, Looks like you need a subscription to read (on firefox at least).

On a similar note at Brooklands today a Boscombe Down 1-11 pilot was saying that one of the systems they tested on the 1-11 could locate the a/c position down to 1 cm laterally & vertically :-O
If God had meant us to fly, he would have given us tickets.

Thanks for the link Peter. :) Southwest has been on the NextGen bandwagon for some time now. The new system seems to be a good idea for everyone. Reduced fuel costs, less noise pollution, and a smaller carbon footprint.

What happens when the military, who still control the global gps service, decided to switch it off in a given area, or make it less accurate in a given area? They do this from time to time for operational reasons.

LOL

Do they fall back to the radio nav aids? usually disruption to the gps service is advised well in advance. I know they switched it off in some parts of Northern Scotland I think it was. It was last year for a training exercise. The fishermen weren't happy!

You know , if people would stop walking through the stuff we wouldn't have such a problem on our hands...err ..feet, or shoes.

Btw , Brian

I believe that screw you posted is a Malco, hex washer slotted head Sharpe point sheet metal screw.

If you're going to screw something up, there isn't a finer way to do it.
