A friend of mine recently mentioned that a mutual acquaintance who enjoys walking had come across a plaque commemorating the loss of a Ww2 aircraft.Considering this this site is a heavily populated site in the SW suburbs of Edinburgh, it seems strange that so few locals(including us) know nothing about it.A quick Google soon came up with the info http://www.aircrewremembered.com/raf194 ... homas.html

Yes these things that come to light that are not well known after all these years are sad, it would be interesting to see your photo's if you get chance,
Infact talking to the Memsahib over breakies this morning she said that she had seen this on the tele the other day and that a Helecopter [thinks RAF] was used to lower a large memorial stone into position for this crash,
