Mike Hudson's RN ship objects (Fs9)

Post by Motormouse »

One for the fishead's and Wafu's... been trying to add (via rwy12) Mike Hudson's Leander class as escort to Ark Royal IV (which, to be fair looks a bit lonely
in scenery) but can't get the bgl to compile; the error report says incorrect string for library object, anyone else tried these for Fs9?

A decent RFA for RWY12 scenery placer wouldn't come amiss too if anyone knows of one :)

Hi Pete :hello:

You'll have seen my Portsmouth thread in the gallery (+ a bit more Portsmouth in the same area). I know that's FSX but I've used them in FS9 too. In fact, some of the ships in FSX are FS9 versions. No reason why they can't be placed using RWY12 as far as I can see although I used Instant SceneryV2. The 'Rover' in those shots was compiled for FSX but MCX should be able to save it for FS9.

Ok, got it to compile, had to leave out Leopard class, seems that particular library is culprit, now where did you get the Rover and HMS Blake from Dave?

Hi Pete :hello:

I'm buggered if I can remember where the Rover came from but Blake is one of Mike's. I've a feeling I got both from Simviation. I'll go and check now :) If all else fails.. I'll upload both here for you ;)

EDIT: Both are at Simviation mate. Type Mike Hudson into the search and the Tigers appear (only them too which is a mystery). For the Rover.. this is part of a file called FSX_MODERN_ROYAL_NAVY_CVF_MW_expansion.zip. Plonk Royal Navy into the search engine and it pop's up in a page or so ;) I gather the Rover started life in FS2000 and is/maybe ex-Alphasim :)

Getting back to this I've managed to plonk a few around the world :)
Does anyone know if there's a Fearless / Intrepid for FS9 scenery use?

Hi Pete :)

There may have been one with the original Falklands 'set' by Alphasim (FS2000/2002 vintage I think) but the only ones readily available are DG's FSX models. There are LPH's oft used as substitutes for Fearless/Intrepid in FS9 but not the real things as far as I know.

You could probably convert my Fearless to a FS9 scenery object using ModelConverterX.
