Nice tribute and comments abou the tragic events of 9/11. There are two days in my life that have given me the feeling the world had been changed forever. One was the day JFK was shot and of course the other was 9/11.

I was on shift in the Operations room at BAC Express. There was a portable TV on shelf that was for night shifts, so it wasn't on, but one of the guys in Commercial came into Ops and said "A light aircraft has hit a skyscraper in New York". The TV went on, the second aircraft hit the second tower and the story started to unfold. The rest, as they say, is history.

I was completely shocked whe nI heard and watched the events unfold on TV, I still could not believe what my eyes were seeing, first one aircraft flies into one of the Towers then later on yet another one hits.

My heart went out to those in the buildings who were still alive though trapped, unable to make their way down to safety and my admiration of the emergency services trying to deal with such a catastrophic incident trying to reach those who were trapped right through to the point where the first tower collapses.

Just hope that nothing of that magnitude ever happens again.
