The radome on the tail fairing (forward facing) for the RWR is too long. :hide:

Yes I know I am getting in a tizz about it, you can blame the RAF for giving me a 'Q' annotation on ARI 18223 and ARI 18228! :'(

S'ok Nev, RAF gave me Q-ABC-A at Honington!!
IIRC mod 1044 was Pave Spike mod.... also changed the speedbrake and outer wing pods.

Then if we could persuade Dave G to equip a Hunter T7 with the IFIS
:).. wish....

Bl**dy RAF! Always liked to pigeonhole us. Still, we had some great times and I would not regret doing it all again.

Cheers Pete!

IIRC mod 1044 was Pave Spike mod.... also changed the speedbrake and outer wing pods.
According to http://www.blackburn-buccaneer.co.uk/Pa ... ech3.html? which has a list of most of the airframe modifications, 1044 was the airbrake strengthening petals while 1641 was Pave Spike, which makes sense as that didn't enter UK service until ~79. The Pave Spike Mod may have been incorporated as part of Mod 1499 which was the package Mod to RAF spec.

Having said that I mainly used it as a way of differentiating between the early S2 and the later S2 with the intake fairing and airbrake mods as they didn't have a separate designation.

The tail bullet radome should be getting changed imminently as it's a painting exercise as opposed to having to remap it.
