The contributing to global warming one is a new one to me and pretty compelling as well.
Yes.. that's one I'd not thought of
I have a similar theory about carbon emissions. I wonder if overall emissions from vehicles would be less if we had less cyclists on the road with queues of traffic stretched out behind them unable to overtake.. all of which would have been home sooner with their engines switched off had the cyclists not been there doing their 'green and healthy' bit causing mobile road blocks in the first place?

Like it Dave. Logic there somewhere

The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
Our local policeman, ...., whoops, sorry! Delete that. Patrols an area from Esher to Weybridge, mostly on foot. I questioned him about the problem of cyclists using the footpaths, and he told me that he ignores them. He feels that they are more of a problem on the roads, and are safer on the paths. A strange logic in that.
The weekend cyclists who dress like Bradley Wiggins, and pedal furiously along dreaming of a Gold Medal, are the most infuriating road users in my opinion. Overtake them if you dare. Or if you can!
ps. Sorry. What's that got to do with clocks going back?
It has about as much to do with the clocks going back as the clocks going back contributing to global warming
Oh.. I think farm vehicles should also be banned between the hours of say.. midnight to 6am No.. Edit that.. they should only be allowed on the roads between midnight and 6am
