Words fail me. It's yet another reminder of how fragile life can be. Treasure every day. There's nothing I can say other than I'm glad at least Ian's soul is at peace now. My profound condolences to his family and loved ones.

As others have said: it's peculiar how someone can be so saddened by the passing of a person they've never met...from a place they've never visited...and a voice they've never heard. Godspeed and God bless, Ian.

Ian , sad news indeed , wishing you Blue skies and fair winds. Airboaters photo , captures Ian really well . It will be a good memory of meeting up with him in September , after having worked with him 30 years previously . His humour , banter and simple explanations of complex 'pooter problems will be all sorely missed here .
Condolences to his family and friends worldwide .

Brgds dave f .

Sad news even though it was expected.

2nd November is All Souls Day or the Commemoration of the Faithful Dead. Given Ian's views on religion I'm sure that would have made him smile.

Just a heads up chaps. I know a great many of you had asked if we should do something collectively and I also know Ian didn't want any gestures or flowers etc. I have however sent a plain card and put the names of all who had posted in this thread offering all our condolences. The card has a photo of Micheldever Wood in Hampshire, with a carpet of bluebells under the trees. It reminded me of the type of photos Ian would have taken on his cycles.

Nice one Ben :)

On Ian's web site there is a gallery of the pics he took whist out cycling. Very moving to look through.
