Visit to College Park Airport

Post by nigelb »

KCGS, College Park Airport has been in operation since 1909 and claims to be the world's oldest continuously operated airport. There is a small aviation museum on the site and we took my grandson for a visit on Sunday. I am rubbish at photography and the pictures I took of the aeroplanes were not very good. I did manage a few of Declan so here they are. Sorry, could not resist sharing these.

Is that the typical American "World's Greatest" or "World's biggest" claim when they down actually mean the world but just the lower 48 States? Lol

Great to see Declan enjoying the exhibits proudly sporting his flying jacket, I love to see kids enjoying shows and museums as much as I did when I looked like I did in my profile pic!

You reminded me of that joke about the American tourist in London. everything he sees he claims there is a bigger one in America. He sees a fortress- like building and makes the same claim. The tour guide responds, I bet you do - that is the insane assylum!

Who knows? Maybe it is the oldest just in Maryland. BTW, the flying jacket belongs to the museum, thay had a rack of them for kids to try on whie visiting which I thought was a great idea.
