Heron to Barra , after tutorials !

Post by dfarrow »

Thanks to Ben , Dave B , Garry and Kevin's tutorials , and trouble shooting ... Heron to the Hebs ..

All on fs9 , with Scottish terrain , and some freeware scenery . Have a reasonable addon of Barra beach airport ; but it's not at Tra'igh Mho'r . It's on the opposite side of the isthmus to the real airport [ ie North West ]........ next challenge gents ... should you choose to accept .... Any top tips for a non 'pooter person to be able to move the position of a scenery addon ?
Maybe leave that challenge 'til next January .. :hide:

You mean move as in MOVE it somewhere else in Scotland? Yes.. better leave that til next Jan

Scotflight scenery covers.. well.. Scotland and comes in various flavours according to which sim you're using and which scenery within that sim (eg.. there's a photo compat version if you use GenX Scotland).

I've always liked the Heron in FJ colours.. it looks a real treat

Dave , yep only one in the real world . And the one I have added on is not in correct position ! Think maybe the Air ambulances have landed in several places in extremis . But the only airport is on Tra'gh Mho'r , a bay to the NE. My addon is 1/2 mi. away to the NW .

Oh dear..

There must be something we can do about this. I take it you're not up to downloading the payware Scotflight stuff then *-)

Indeed! He may be 12yo but this sort of mistake could have Boeing pilots anywhere

Unless you have something he doesn't have.. the airport should be where it should be.. not half a mile down the road (or on the wrong beach in this case). Serves him right for being a smartarse

I must have something for Barra here. In the process of building a more suitable FSX machine at the mo (and proof is I'm typing this on it) but I'll look through what I have and see if there's not something a bit more accurate. Perhaps one of the scenery guru's here (and we have some believe me) will be able to move it for you.. lock, stock and two smoking natives ;)

Dave , thanks . Good luck with the build , that deffo makes you a rocket scientist .. got a good cold chisel and lump which I tend to use .
Mind you , which of us is now on the :OB: ? I know I'm slow to learn and resistant to change , and still learning fs9.
