Hello All,
Just moved house so no proper internet yet, but-
I know we have some railway types here and whilst stood at Crossflatts Station in my Christmas Jumper waiting to get aboard the Leeds train for my Christmas Do, a question returned to me that I've always wanted to know the answer to;
Looking across at the opposite platform there are several plates about 12"x6", white, with two numbers on and what looks like some kind of slider. They're on all station platforms.
What are they and what do they do??!
Please help a confused idiot wearing a Christmas tree jumper passing time on his way to Leeds!
Cheers,
Paul

Re: Railway Question
Hi Paul,
They are Datum Plates that the Permanent Way guys use to spec the relative position and any movement of the track.
