Hello.. this is Microsoft speaking..

Post by DaveB »

Yo Chaps :)

I know you're all savvy here so it won't apply but just a HU to say I received another one of these 'Hello, I'm from Microsoft.. you have a problem with your computer' phone calls. I thanked the Indian/Asian lady and said I'd look into it then put the phone down  If you have 'oldies' in your family who are silver-surfers.. you might like to give them a HU. I've just called my Aunt and told her about the call saying that if she gets one, tell the person on the phone you don't have a computer ;)

The Efff Off doesn't always work. Some months back my Mrs tried this and hung up. 5 mins later he rang back and told her the same before promptly hanging up himself. Somehow it was my fault. :dunno:

Apparently one is required to say pardon before the efff off...

It's like a free pass or something. :dunno:

Either blow a whistle on down the phone or go off and make a cup of tea and leave them talking

Ask 'em to read back your serial number if they are from microsoft - line usually goes dead.

Last one I got, I asked him if he thought I had just got off the same effing banana boat that he had - end of conversation.
