Nice, Dave - "Ground Breaking Poop" :) Please may I use that?

I saw this tosh a few days ago in an Aussie paper - like the Sun we get the global BS a little earlier. It's been a long time since I didn't study aerodynamics but is it really possible to cruise above Mach 1 with straight wings? No really, semi-serious question :dunno:
It's not a 'bird', it's an aeroplane or an aircraft

The M52 (well a model of it) flew at M=1+, Bell X1 & what about the manned missile? F104. Even faster was the X15.

Hi Keith, have to acknowledge those but only the F104 was a production machine and the wings on all of them were really only stubs. None of them had a great reputation for staying airborne for very long :(

That's what I don't understand - surely you couldn't have the size of wings shown the picture of the alleged "airliner" and sustain Mach speed?

Fortunately perhaps, if it ever gets off the ground, I won't be travelling on it . Mr. Lottery just won't play, even when I buy a ticket :wall:

Paul,
I agree with you, but as yet I don't understand where they are going to stow all that fuel & still have space for the crew & passengers & their luggage!
