I'm not sure why they get so excited about its length - it is a tiddler compared with the R101 and indeed the R100, both of which from memory were in the region of 700 feet long . It is also extremely ugly ; again, the airships of old had an elegance about them even if they were extremely dangerous

Just thinking..yeah I know, unbelievable eh!!
This may be the biggest of it's kind as it's a derigable.
The earlier huge 'ships' were frame construction containing seperate bags.

I thought dirigible (from the French to steer) meant Navigable. If the object was frameless then it was a Blimp - from the Colonel character I believe.
