Dave, would it be possible for you to post your updates, please ? I'm threatening to buy myself this (and the EuroFighter) for my birthday, and would like to see what difference that makes ...
Graham.. I think you'll be suitably pleased with it. It's more 'old school' than some of the more modern stuff so you don't need to spend a fortnight learning the manual (though of course, you can if you so wish). Fire it up and fly.. nothing could be more simple

That's me Dave, guilty as charged m'lud.
I'm a jump in and drive merchant - sort the switches out later. Makes a nice ride out of Leconfield along with John Young's AI variety.

Ro.. I really can't post the updates as such as I've modified the model and I don't think JF would care for me giving their model away If on the other hand you decide to buy it, I can send you something in private
Dave,
No worries, mate. I thought you were talking about panel changes rather than .mdl changes from your brief comment - obviously a lack of understanding of the intricacies of this sort of technology on my part.
Is it just me or does the knots scale on the main ASI not move? The lower strip that indicates Mach works fine but the upper one just sits at 300 the whole time which is a bit of a problem on approach!
I noticed that too Skip. To be honest.. it's been out long enough to have been fixed too Saving grace.. I don't spend a lot of time sub-300kts in it and use shift+z
I haven't got this installed currently, so I can't check. However, from memory, the top one (airspeed) should remain stationary, the lower one (mach) will move dependant on altitude. That way, the top and bottom strips will provide a correct reading whatever altitude you are flying at. The moving marker in between the two strips is the indicator for both the speed and mach strips, not the yellow dot that is roughly central along that middle bit.
Hmm.. I may be missing it too then. I see the bottom tape moving (or at least keeping up with what I'm doing at speed) but I don't see anything to indicate my speed below 300kt on that gauge. That said.. I've only looked at the manual to find how I get the brake chute to deploy so it could still be me
EDIT: Ah.. the wonders of b1oody tft's The Speedtape does work correctly.. just that I didn't see it. My FSX pc is currently at a desk behind a window and the monitor often gets washed out with the slightest bit of sunlight (my fault). I've just had a quick look in the dead of night and there's a red bar that moves left to right indicating the slower speed while the lower 'mach tape' moves right to left using the yellow dot as it's calibration point. I'd really not noticed the red bar before but with the monitor not subject to the rigors of daylight (in it's current position).. it's easily identifiable.. unless you always fly at 300kts as the red bar is masked behind the yellow dot There's always the ASI to the left of course
