Wow! Got the Iris A-10A? Have a looky here!

Post by J0hn »

Whilst looking for some more gen on the Twin Star for Paul, I stumbled across this announcement at the Iris store:

http://www.irissimulations.com.au/ols/

I'll be redownloading my purchase, then! Not really too bothered about the TacPak (FSX/P3D are my holiday from combat flight sims) but the updates to the model seem well worth a look.

Great that they are making the update free for existing customers of the model.
please be sure to re-download your old product, as you'll find the installer has been upgraded to the Warthog Driver II Gold Edition free of charge!

Argh! I can't find my receipt, and the FltSim Pilot Shop has no record of my purchase! I might have bought it directly from Iris - I'm sure they sold stuff direct from their own online store at some point, but I seem to only have the installer file now. Can't even remember when I bought it (must have a look back in this forum, I distinctly remember us chatting about it during the Christmas sale of whichever year it was - found it - blimey, 2010! :-O ).

I did see some of my other purchases in my account records there, though, and was a little miffed that you have to pay $5 to 'reactivate' a download link! Bloody cheek!

thats some online shops for you! I would say you want to try out the tacpack as there are more add-ons being made for tacpack coming out soon (Aerosoft F-14 and the M2M F-15/Mirage).
Since the A-10 has been updated ive been flying that more than the Superbug...

I'm just making my Hunters TacPack capable. Got working guns & rocket packs, as well as sidewinders & 500lb bombs on some marks.

I found the receipt for the A-10A, but it is from their checkout company, Playmate, and doesn't actually say what you purchased, just that you have paid a certain amount.

Iris didn't actually send any purchase confirmation, just the download link for the file, which became available once PlayMate confirmed the funds were taken. There is a code of some kind on the installer - I'll have to check if it's the same every time or random.

But here's another "EH???!! :-O "

I sent Iris a 'ticket' outlining the problem I'm having, and that I'm unable to log in to my Iris account (they must have deleted all of the existing accounts when they updated their website). I got an auto-reply, saying that I need to register an account to follow the ticket responses!

In other words, I have to make an account, to read what they say about the fact that I can't log in to my account. Hmmmm... *-)

Can do that ;) TacPack supports different types of ammo, so you can have different ammo for each gun. Not sure if there are suitable types though, as it's mainly based on modern US stuff.

Actually, I may need to pick your brains on the weapons & operations Peter ;)

...and still no reply from Iris.

Pleased as I am to have purchased almost all their models at knocked down prices, this spells the death-knell for my trust in them. That goes for DCS, too. If they can't be bothered supporting me as a customer, then I can't be bothered buying from them.

Und damit basta! To quote our German neighbours.
