Re: Cloud9 Phantom Question
Without having seen or heard of this product, can I suggest you check out the manual. I've only ever bought 1 Cloud9 product and it came with really good documentation.

There is a long and involved discussion on this a/c over at SOH. Perhaps they can assist.

Don't know if it will be of any help, but in the Iris Phantoms I used the VOR/TACANs for navigation. You follow the track in the round scope.
I actually found it quite enjoyable.
Okay - just correcting myself - it's a while since I flew this aircraft. The beacon signal is displayed as lines on the CDI, I think, and you just have to keep them lined up as you do on an ILS beam.
The CDI is directly behind the handle part of the joystick, which makes it a bit of a pain to see, at times. So you just enter in the VOR frequency in the Nav radio, then keep the vertical line on the CDI centred with the 0° azimuth line.
I've been meaning to have another go at this, so I will give it a try and let you know if it I remember it correctly. Should be the same in any Phantom model, of course, as long as the nav system is functioning.
