Has anyone got either the Prowler or Intruder? I like these for some reason. The panels look a bit iffy though.

I have the Alphasim models - both quite good, iirc. I can't remember exactly how good the VCs are, but I know I enjoyed flying them.

I might be able to upload a pic or two, tomorrow from P3D.

That's okay, Dave - I mentioned it because that's where I currently have it installed.

I would say go ahead and buy whichever one you prefer, Dave. I've just had a quick flight in both of them in FSX. My preference would be the Prowler, as I like the VC more on that, but they both have very nice FDs (I actually stalled and crashed the Intruder... ) and the exterior models are excellent. The animations are great, too.

The one downer I've found is that both cockpits have blurry text labels in the VCs. This is worse for the controls that don't work, but even on the dials, there is a bit of fuzziness when zoomed in. Shame, that, but the rest of the models are good enough to make that bad point worth it.

The 2D panels are up to snuff.

I took loads of screenies and it's difficult picking out the right ones to post, but hopefully these will be of use - remember, they've been resized, so there is a little more fuzziness in the VC than is actually present full-size.

Oh yes - the wings are not visible, looking back from inside the cockpit. That may have been a "no wings from VC" model - I'm not sure.

You do get some nice instruments such as a weird artificial horizon/flight director type thingy (there is a manual!):

Yes - go for it, mate - I doubt you'll be disappointed - Virtavia might even have improved things, since these are the old Alphasim models

Thanks for that JD I now have a shed load of models to fly (that's my spend done for last month and next!) and no time to fly them due to a certain bit of payware scenery reaching beta today Get your plastic ready for another bending (though not for a few weeks)

Hi chaps,

Just a heads up that she wasn't always a Mk4X. In Wings Over Thurleigh there's a B&W shot it what appears to be standard Mk4 guise (without the nose radar) during Trial Wellington on HMS Iron Duke in the Clyde Estuary. Interesting for DB, was that the first Electro Luminescent (EL) where on his old ship Andromeda.

Just had it confirmed that she (ZB506) was definitely a Bedford aircraft too
