That's the 787-9 version of the black luivery that has been on examples of other types for quite sometime now.
A least hid hides some of the hideousness a bit

Paints moved on a lot Joe...but it's not that good yet.
Certain types suit certain colour well.
In the case of the 787 it would look at it's very best if that could paint in overall in something that would make it invisible.
