Very soon in fact ?
I was looking at the participation list for Duxford's September airshow, in the hope that the possible appearance of both Lancasters on the Sunday might be confirmed. Well, the BBMF one is definitely on the list, and I doubt she will be alone, as both are down to display at Goodwood the same day. However, what came as a real surprise is that the Bristol Blenheim, operated by the Aircraft Restoration Company, is also listed as a flying participant.
The link to the list is halfway down the page...

Has anyone heard any rumours, and if not, would they care to start some ?

Re: Blenheim to fly soon ?
By some coincidence, I was looking at the Blenheim website a few days ago and noticed they'd done their first engine runs in April which is 3 months ago now so who knows..

Thats interesting - that they were at that stage back then. I wonder if the ' big surprise ' that Stephen Grey mentioned just before last month's Flying Legends was going to be the Blenheim, but it just wasn't ready in time. Can they do a test flight at an airshow, as long as it isn't classed as a display flight as such ?

I don't think that would be a wise move and considering the Blenheim has never had a run of luck.. I'd not want to tempt fate.

Yes, you're right of course. In fact it'd be bloody daft to test fly a restoration at an airshow - whatever am I thinking of.
Ah well, I shall pay close attention to the usual sources of information over the next few weeks. By the way Dave, which is that Blenheim website you mentioned ?

Hiya Paul
The Blenheim Society have their own website http://www.blenheimsociety.org.uk/ which is ok but not as informative as you might imagine! Many of the links are 'error 404.. file not found' so someone isn't paying attention
Still.. they have some up to date pictures and it's a good place to start

Rgr that matey
I actually picked up that it'd done an engine run on another forum.. wish I could remember which but you know what it's like when you're looking for something and get pulled off onto something else
It'll be nice to see it fly again though I'm still not sure about the Mk1 nose

Hmmm, yes, not convinced meself either. Its a shame that can't do it like Corgi, with the same fuselage and just stick on the Mk.1 or Mk.4 cockpit ( complete with big gap ) depending on which one they want to sell.DaveB wrote:It'll be nice to see it fly again though I'm still not sure about the Mk1 nose![]()
